I am pleased to provide some details of my background:

  • I am in my 50’s and have been self employed for over 25 years;
  • I have worked for 6 years as a Financial Controller for an SME with several million dollar turn over, and 3 divisions: Retail 5 stores in Melbourne and Sydney, Wholesale and their own Manufacturing plant interstate;
  • Prior to this, I worked as Senior Accounts Payable in Transfield Tunneling Melbourne;
  • I have also established and ran my own manufacturing and service businesses, in maintenance and hospitality, therefore I know both sides of business and applying accounting software;
  • I am a fully qualified MYOB Certified Consultant after using their software for 13 years and having passed several hours of examination and training proficiency in MYOB installation, support and training. This requires proof of a thorough working knowledge of the software and accounting knowledge, in addition to structuring and customizing MYOB to the needs of the client. My knowledge is assessed and updated each year, and I am required to complete 20 hours of professional development annually. I also employ part time staff working on client accounts with me in my consultancy;
  • In addition, I am a Reckon Professional Partner and have years of experience;
  • I established and manage my administration and account keeping services in 2000, and clients have included Europcar franchise in Clayton, Cybertribe Computers in East Bentleigh, MCM Studio Melbourne, and many retail and wholesale and importing clients;
  • I have a Degree and a Masters, also certificates in Business Advanced Management, Business GST, and studied numerous courses in business, marketing and theory over the years, in addition to foreign currency payments, multi state payroll tax and superannuation complexities;
  • I am also currently Administration Manager of a team for Self Managed Super Fund Administration in partnership with a Financial Planner Jim Brownlee offering investment education and mentoring;
  • Several staff are Registered BAS Agents with the Tax Practitioners Board –
